Practice Builders for Pros

Where to start and what to do?

Those are the big questions most therapists who want to build a successful private practice ask, but don’t know how to answer. Well, here’s a ton of stuff for you all gleaned from the school of hard knocks. Use what you can. I’ll be happy to coach you along the process as well.  My goal? I want to see us all succeed brilliantly! Our success will be our client’s success and vice versa.

Monthly Networking Lunch Group
This is a group of area colleagues (behavioral healthcare professionals) who meet monthly to network, provide consultation and peer supervision to each other. We are by no means an exclusive group and we invite new colleagues to join our group. Find out more…

Practice Development Coaching
Figure out how to put all the pieces together. Why spend years figuring it all out on your own when you can get coaching from someone who’s not only been there but has also arrived? Practice development coaching is available at $150/hr and can be done in person, over the phone or via video (Skype). Email support between coaching sessions and access to all of my resources is included at no extra charge. You can schedule here or call me directly at 801.787.8014 if you have any questions.

For Students

I’ve been there. I remember pulling the all-nighters, the stress of all the exams, the joy of study and learning and developing collegial relationships, and somehow trying to balance it all and pull it all together.

Ask an MFT Series
Several students, prospective students and college classes have interviewed me about the field of MFT and what it’s like to be a therapist. These interviews/Q&A’s will soon be posted as podcasts and will answer many of your questions.

Coming Soon: Get the Word Out! book
Get a leg-up on the competition: Trust me. You’re not getting the education you need on how to market a successful private practice–they just don’t cover that in grad school. Here’s the most direct, and cheapest, way to market your practice right out the gate.

Coming Soon: Therapy Humor
Take your work seriously. Not yourself. My fav collection of therapy-related humor will be posted soon.

Coming Soon: The re-launch of The MFT InfoLink: Your complete guide to marriage and family therapy resources
Back in the day there was nothing online about the field of MFT. As per how I do everything, I don’t wait for solutions, I create solutions. And thus, the MFT Info Link was created. I’ll be honest, I’ve moved on from this project and it hasn’t been updated in years. Some info may be dated, but there’s still tons of great info.
